Second Date-Sylvia and Mom out in search of a new spring/winter coat, shoes and a new My Little Pony (starsong), bought with her own birthday money from grandparents. First stop: Good Will where we found a great new coat to get her through this year. (Her coat now is a pale green. I learned my lesson: NEVER buy something that is worn ouside daily in a pale color). Went to Wendy's and Sylvia ate so slow. We talked about how it is good to eat kind of slow and not so fast (when we observed that mom had finished her meal and Sylvia had barely touched her food), and she added "because it is appropriate and good manners". We had a good time and I can see us shopping more and more together.
Third Date-Gracie and Mom. McDonalds where she ate nothing (ordered a happy meal) but they had kids night and we enjoyed making frames for the fridge. She also drank her pop from the happy meal. She really enjoyed her one on one time. As we sat down, she reminded me that we needed to pray. She wanted to do the "daddy's prayer" with me. She said it about loud enough for all of McDonalds to hear. From there we went to Walmart and she thought it was great to sit in the cart by herself. She picked out a great game where the player wears a picture on their head and the other players give them clues so they can guess the picture. She played it all night with dad and Sylvia.
Fourth Date-Andrew and Mom. Outside with the dog (Murphy-dog sitting for the week) We had to pick up after the doggie. So, Andrew helped me search. We both managed to get some on our shoes in the process. But I think it is under control. Andrew loves to be outside. We went for a walk and he watched and identified the cars, trucks birds, basketball hoops, and dogs. He also loves the dog we are watching. He sits in his crate (brings his books, balls, toys and blankies), and follows him around the house. He treats him like a friend. I heard him say "here you go" and handed the dog his toy ambulance. I would probably think about getting a dog of our own this summer if it weren't for the three dirty shoes.
Fifth Date-Dad and Mom. Final game of March Madness with a big bag of animal crackers between us. Sad for Butler! Congrats to Kelsey! Way to take home the trophy!
It has been a wonderful day!
Older picture of Sylvia sitting on the mailbox on the day we got huge amounts of snow. We are now thankful for the ground we can see. We did have a lot of nice snow days this year so I can't complain too much.
Gracie enjoying a PB and J and her mermaid doll. Probably another one of the lovely snowdays we had.
Andrew probably enjoying spagetti. It is usually not that messy.
