Christmas 2011

Another Christmas season has passed us by, remembering the birth of Jesus, spending good quality time with family, eating too much, and of course - eating!  Unfortunately, Andrew had a quick little flu that kept the Sternberg males away from the Koning Christmas party.  And while we didn't get any pictures, it sounds like the ladies had A LOT of fun!

Opening gifts this Christmas was quite a whirlwind - the kids are definitely not shy about ripping paper.

Good to see Shawn, Katie, and Aaliyah again.  Katie is due April 8th, and we are excited for another cousin, even if he or she is all the way in Neenah, Wisconsin.

Cousin Henry is getting bigger every day.  What a cutie!

The cousins all together - notice, Andrew is still not a big fan of the picture thing.

Andrew got both of his "passions" for Christmas - tools and kitchen toys!

Sorry Grandma!

To answer the question from last week, in case anyone in cyberworld cares:

A week or so ago, we stopped by Grandpa and Grandma Sternberg's house quick on the way home from a Thanksgiving party with the greater Sternberg family in Overisel.  Laura took Andrew in the house, while Grandma was hanging out with the girls in the van for a couple of minutes.  While in the house, Andrew was let loose.  He ran into the living room and decided to throw a puzzle on the floor.  Grandma had been doing a 1000 piece puzzle, and it was all busted up on the floor!  Yikes!  Not sure how much was done, but I think it was a lot.  Grandma actually kept her cool, but I am sure she was not a happy camper.

An additional note:  on Sunday we spent the day at the Sternberg house for Thanksgiving with Aunt Kelsey and Jen, Joe, Claire and Henry.  The older 4 kids ran off and were nice and quiet for a little while.  Finally, dad said, "it sure has been quiet for a while.  Wonder what the kids are up to."  To which mom answered, "Oh!  I bet they got into the closet full of unwrapped Christmas presents!"  sure enough.  Andrew and Claire each had a handful of toys.

Love it!
